Äripäev’s Infopank is a critical tool for many entrepreneurs, offering in-depth financial data and business relationship insights. However, the platform was in need of a refresh: it was difficult to use on mobile devices and suffered from slow loading times. Thanks to a collaboration between Uptime and Opus, a brand-new version of Infopank has been launched – one that meets both the company’s business goals and user expectations.
“Infopank was originally built using a headless architecture, which allows us to update the user interface without having to rewrite the entire system,” explained Raimo Seero, CTO at Uptime.
That earlier architectural choice recently proved its value when Infopank decided to overhaul its user interface to improve the user experience. The result: a fresh and modern front-end that enhances the experience for end users – without the need for costly backend redevelopment.
How Did We Do It?
High Performance, Even During Peak Hours
To ensure lightning-fast speed, even during high-traffic periods, Opus implemented solutions using Next.js and Cloudflare. “Now, Infopank loads significantly faster. Requests no longer overload the main server – they’re handled via Cloudflare’s cache. Users get the data they need more quickly, and the system easily manages peak-time loads,” said Seero.
According to Margus Eha, CEO of Opus, the primary focus was on user experience and performance. “Infopank users need fast, efficient access to business-critical information, so the new solution had to be technically robust. We paid special attention to mobile usability, which is always a challenge with large volumes of data. The new interface is now fully optimised for all devices.”
In addition to improved speed, the new technology stack also enhanced Infopank’s SEO performance. “Google prioritises fast and well-structured websites. Using Next.js and Cloudflare caching gives Infopank a significant SEO boost. The content is now more readable to search engines, which improves its visibility,” said Eha.
Reduced Maintenance Burden
The headless architecture offers other major benefits as well. It allows the same content to be delivered across multiple channels. “That means we can present the same data to both Infopank clients and Äripäev digital subscribers – without managing it separately,” explained Seero. This reduces duplication and simplifies updates since changes are made in one place and reflected everywhere.
The updated front end also brought more flexibility to managing static pages and data. Infopank now uses MDX technology, allowing dynamic content blocks to be edited based on business needs. “Editors can now add or remove information without needing a developer to change the code,” Seero added.
The entire upgrade was completed in just six months. Since Opus had previously worked on Äripäev’s main website, they were able to reuse some existing React.js components, which made the process faster and more cost-effective.
“Infopank now has a top-tier website powered by modern, smart technology,” Eha concluded. “The system can be easily updated and adapted in the future, with minimal need for developer involvement.”
Indrek Valm, Head of Development at Infopank:
“For us, the top priority was to have a fast and technically flexible tool that supports our business goals and meets user expectations. Opus and Uptime brought in exactly the right technologies to make that vision a reality. The results speak for themselves: users get information faster, mobile navigation is smooth, and our content management workflows are significantly more agile.”
